Ford Aerostar Repair Question :: 1993 Ford Aerostar  Air conditioner

1993 Ford Aerostar  6 cyl Four Wheel Drive  70.000 miles

I decide to purshase an overhold air conditioner compressor  and a new dryer. ...the condenser was in good shape. The mechanic told me that was concerned on the amount of pounds (60) because it was to high....that probably the compresor was not in a good shape. The autoparts  guarantee  the compressor. I wish to know how many lbs should have the low pressure side and the high side...also how many pounds of freon shoud have the system.

He told me to run the car on trafic and check out if is cooling write, other wise I have to change it....I am concern about all this.

regards
